The men were set apart and they fought in the ford. As they fought Pryderi was troubled by an eel coiling around his feet, and then Gwydion thrust his sword through his heart, and Pryderi was slain. And a raven came and settled on his shoulder.
Then Beli and his men set forth towards their own land, while the men of Gwynedd went back in joy. But Beli left spies in the land to seek out Gwydion for redress of taking the swine of Annwn and the death of Pryderi.
Gwydion and the war band went to make the circuit of the land, but news came that Beli was enraged and still sought him for redress. But Beli did not know that his daughter Aranrhod had been slept with, and it was Gwydion who had done it. She remained in the tower with her maidens, who knew nothing of GwydionÕs coming.
